Full Moon Yin Virgo

Activate your Muladhara, the Root Chakra, to ground down and root into a sense of security and stability. We will be doing long holds working into the more hard elements of the body in the pelvis, hips, and lower spine.

This chakra is imperative to building the foundation that allows us to create and manifest what we want in the world and in our lives. Deep roots allow plants to grow tall and branch out, coming to their fullest expression. It is so with humans as well. When we come from a grounded center, we are able to expand beyond our limitations, encompassing a dynamic liveliness.

This month we have offerings both online and in person to celebrate the Full Moon. The first is on Thursday, March 17th, the night prior to the morning when the the Full Moon enters Virgo. We will be meeting online at 7pm to 8:30pm, exploring the heart of Virgo, its compassion for the wellbeing of the planet and all people.

SweatBox Studio on Capitol Hill is also hosting a live version of this workshop the night of the Spring Equinox. The yin set will be the same but the intention and attention focused on this special day - the astrological New Year - will be focused on what seeds we are planting for the coming Spring and Summer Season.

During the chrysalis of Winter, we have gone inward. As Spring nears, the learning of the internal time of winter will sprout new growth. As the season changes, so do we.

Within yin yoga, it is less important to know and do many different types of postures and sets. The same set can bring you deeper and deeper into this energy center. Please consider joining me for both workshops with a slight shift in theme and internal focus.
